Control energy consumption

Keep track of the energy consumption of your company and carry out measures to reduce this consumption. Make the most of sunlight, regulate the ambient temperature efficiently, and do not overuse heating or air conditioning. Also, consider if it is necessary to change the air conditioning equipment to others with lower energy consumption.

On the other hand, turn off and unplug the equipment and the machines when no one is using them. You have no idea of the energy consumption that a photocopier or printer involves, which, even when turned off, remain plugged in.

Choose local or nearby suppliers

Opt to hire local or nearby suppliers that are environmentally responsible. Ideally, their products are made with sustainable raw materials and that have an ecological certification seal.

Environmental training

Raising awareness among your employees about the environmental impact a company can have is essential. Organize environmental education campaigns and promote a sustainable work environment.

Encourage small actions that help the planet, such as each employee having their own cup or a thermos for coffee, instead of using disposable cups. Also, place reminders or creative posters in the different facilities reminding the importance of recycling or turning off the lights when leaving.

Sustainable transport

Whenever possible, choose to make road shipments to reduce to a minimum the carbon footprint, since air and sea transport are much more polluting.

On the other hand, organize shifts so that your employees can share the same transport or promote the use of sustainable transport such as electric or hybrid vehicles. Also, try to encourage public transport or cycling for commuting to the office.

• Online advertising: although this will depend on the type of business, you can opt for online advertising instead of brochures or printed ads.

Sustainable or reusable packaging

Reduce the environmental impact of the entire production process, for example with sources of renewable energy. Likewise, use materials for the manufacture of your products and packaging that are ecological and reusable or biodegradable.

Waste management

In a company, it is essential to have a waste management policy that minimizes the environmental impact of industrial activity as much as possible. Put aside the "use and throw away" mentality and put into practice the 3R rule: reduce the amount of waste generated, recycle and reuse as much as you can.
