September is the month of the reset.
Not only in the calendar — in the skin too. After months of sun, salt, chlorine and heat, skin arrives in September asking for something different. More nourishment, more repair, more attention to what summer has left behind.
And the routine has to respond.
What summer has left on the skin
Before changing the routine, it's worth understanding what has happened.
The sun has generated free radicals that have damaged collagen and elastin. Accumulated dehydration has made the skin lose its glow and its texture less even. Dark spots that were lying dormant have surfaced with sun exposure. And the skin barrier, subjected to months of external aggression, may be more sensitive than usual.
September is the moment to reverse that damage — or at least stop it before it sets in.
The changes the September routine calls for
You don't need to change everything at once. But there are adjustments that make a real difference.
More antioxidants
Oxidative damage caused by the sun doesn't disappear on its own. It needs active ingredients that neutralise it — and that's exactly what antioxidants do.
Vitamin C remains the most effective antioxidant for daily use. In September, if it was scaled back over summer for fear of photosensitisation, it's time to reintroduce it in force. In the morning, after toner and before hydration.
Glow BOOSTER

Retinol is the most effective anti-ageing active ingredient there is — and September is the ideal time to start using it.
With fewer hours of sunlight and lower temperatures, skin tolerates retinol better and the risk of photosensitisation is lower.
Retinol stimulates cell renewal, activates collagen production and visibly improves skin texture within a few weeks. It's the September active ingredient par excellence.
Retinol Night Serum

Summer skin is dehydrated skin — even if it doesn't always look like it.
In September, with less humidity in the air and cooler temperatures, dehydration can become more noticeable. It's time to step up hydration and add a multi-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid serum.
Aqua BOOSTER

The spots summer has left behind don't disappear on their own — but with the right active ingredients they can improve markedly before winter arrives.
Niacinamide is one of the most effective active ingredients for evening out tone and reducing post-summer hyperpigmentation.
Clarity BOOSTER

This is the most common September mistake.
UV radiation doesn't disappear with summer. UVA rays — responsible for premature ageing — are present year-round with practically the same intensity. Dropping sunscreen in September cancels out much of the work the other active ingredients are doing.

The skin you'll have in November largely depends on what you do in September.
It's the month when summer's damage is still fresh and active ingredients can reverse it most effectively. The month when retinol can start working under ideal conditions. The month when a well-tuned routine can bring skin into autumn at its very best.
The reset starts now.
