Homemade refreshing drinks: quench your thirst!

|Laura González Becker

Summer is synonymous with scorching heat, blazing sun on the skin, highly sought-after shade. But for most mortals, we love it! It is one of the happiest times of the year, in which the positive energy is everywhere.

That said, to fully enjoy it, you have to be nice and cool and hydrated. That’s why today we bring you a list of homemade refreshing drinks you can easily and quickly make at home. You will handle the heat much better (almost as well as if you apply these citrus Fragrances or these Fragrances for summer)

Non-alcoholic refreshing drinks

Lemonade

If there is a quintessential homemade refreshing drink, it is lemonade. The queen of summer drinks since the world began, thanks to how good it tastes and how easy it is to prepare. Never made it? Then don't wait another second!

To make it you need very few ingredients: 2 lemons, 1 lime, 8 glasses of cold water, ice cubes or crushed ice, and sugar to taste.

Once you have them, squeeze the juice from the lemons and lime, mix it with half the water and the sugar (or if you are a fit person who train daily, you can use another type of sweetener). Strain the mixture and add the rest of the water. This will give it an ultra-liquid texture without lumps. Now just add plenty of ice, and enjoy!

Multifruit juice

This is one of the most refreshing and healthy drinks you can prepare. And it only contains fruit (and a little honey, which never hurts to sweeten life a bit).

To make it, you need: six oranges, two apples, two slices of pineapple, and a lemon. Juice the apples, remove the skin and core of the apples, and blend them along with the pineapple slices, squeeze the lemon and add a little of its previously grated peel to give it a special touch. Mix everything in a blender or juicer and add ice.

The honey or sugar is completely optional, as the glucose in the fruit works as a natural sweetener. So if you feel like not adding anything but fruit, even better! You can always make up for the lack of sweetness with one of these sweet perfumes for women.

Watermelon juice

Watermelon is one of the queen fruits of summer, so our list couldn't miss a homemade refreshing drink starring it.

It is ideal since it is one of the fruits with the highest water content, so it quenches thirst like no other. Also, it is so easy to make that in just five minutes you will have it ready.

To make it, you need: half a kilo of watermelon, half a lemon, ice cubes, and a little sugar. Once you have all the ingredients, just remove the seeds from the watermelon, cut it into pieces, and put them in a blender. Add water and the juice of half a lemon. Blend until you get a smooth mixture. Put the mixture in the fridge before serving to make it even colder. Absolutely delicious!

Carrot juice

Carrot is rich in beta-carotene, a precursor of vitamin A, which is essential for eye and skin health. Therefore, this vegetable is the best companion you can have this summer (especially if you like to get a tan).

You feel like trying it, right? To make it you only need 4 carrots, water, 1 lemon, and a little sugar (totally optional because it's so good it doesn't need it). To prepare it, wash and peel the carrots, blend them, add the water and lemon juice, and that's it! That easy.

Refreshing alcoholic drinks

If you organize a special dinner at home, the best thing you can do to finish it off and surprise your guests is to offer them one of these refreshing alcoholic drinks as a final cocktail.

Banana Daiquiri

In just 15 minutes you can have this original cocktail ready, worthy of the chicest cocktail bar in your city.

To make it, gather 200 ml of white rum, 100 ml of maraschino (a liqueur made from bitter black cherries and honey), 100 ml of lemon juice, 1 peeled and chopped banana; 1 and a half tablespoons of powdered sugar, and lots of ice cubes.

Once you have all the ingredients, it's time to prepare it, but it's very simple! You just have to put everything in a blender until you get a homogeneous mixture.

Sangria

A drink originating from Spain that has captivated everyone. Refreshing and delicious, to make it you will need: 1 bottle of red wine, 2 oranges and 2 lemons; 4 peaches (if not in season, they can be replaced with apples), 3 tablespoons of sugar; soda water or Cointreau (both optional), and finally, ice.

Pour the bottle of wine into a pitcher full of ice (the colder the sangria, the better it will be). Add the squeezed juice of the oranges and lemons, the Cointreau, the soda water, the sugar, and the peaches cut into pieces.

Mojito

We couldn't finish this list without mentioning the quintessential summer cocktail, the most requested refreshing alcoholic drink in the world: the mojito.

To make it you need white rum, brown sugar, limes, mint leaves, and soda. And of course, lots and lots of crushed ice!

The mojito has a somewhat different preparation compared to the other homemade refreshing drinks we've shown you before. The ideal is to prepare it glass by glass. Let us explain: Put a little brown sugar, mint leaves, and a piece of lime in a glass. Crush and mix everything with a mortar until the sugar dissolves. Add crushed ice and pour in the rum and soda. Finally, decorate the glass with pieces of lime and mint to give it even more flavor. It's incredible! We don't know anyone who doesn't like mojito.
