You just need to fill a spray bottle with water and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. If you use a humidifier in your home, you can add a few drops of essential oil mixed with the water to evenly distribute the aroma throughout the room.

3. Scented gelatin

Although nowadays it is possible to find jars of aromatic gelatin in any supermarket, you should know that you can also create your own fully personalized air freshener, and more importantly, reusing containers that you would otherwise throw away. Also, the result is usually quite aesthetic, so it can be an object with a dual function: to decorate and to provide a pleasant scent to our home.

To create your own aromatic gelatin you will need: a clean, empty glass jar, dye, neutral gelatin, salt, and the essential oil of your choice.

The first step will be to boil the gelatin in hot water, following the instructions on the package. Then, we will add our essential oil (the more you add, the stronger the scent) along with the dye. 6. Use leftover soap as an air freshener

With leftover soap bars, you can also create fabulous scented sachets for very little money. The process to make them is simple: make small fabric bags with leftover clothing scraps and fill them with soap remnants you have around the house.

7. Antibacterial scenting for the kitchen

How could we forget the kitchen? One of the rooms most exposed to strong odors, as it is common to cook with oils and strong aromas there.

The ideal in this case is to use natural products that pose no danger to our health. Fortunately, many foods have antibacterial properties, as well as eliminating odors and providing a fresh aroma in the room.

To create our own antibacterial air freshener for the kitchen, we will need a orange or lemon, a cinnamon stick, water, sugar, and white vinegar.

The process is as follows: boil half a liter of water with cinnamon, add orange or lemon peel and a few tablespoons of sugar. Then mix it with vinegar and let it cool, then store it in our spray bottle.

8. Spices for exotic aromas in the home

If you want your home to transport you to some of the most exotic places in the world, there is nothing like creating your own air fresheners based on aromatic spices such as clove, ginger, or allspice.

You just have to infuse them in hot water and then place the liquid in a spray bottle to spread it throughout your home.

9. Aromatic plants for a natural and fresh scent

It is not necessary to create a product to make our home smell clean and fresh. If we want to achieve a lasting scent without constantly spraying surfaces, we can opt for aromatic plants. Some of our favorites to bring a natural smell to our home are basil, mint, rosemary, or thyme.
