Are you tired of wearing your hair tied in a ponytail or just loose? Do you have a dinner or special event and want to try something new, but your hairdressing skills are nothing special?
Don't worry, because we have the solution for you: braids are an easy hairstyle, never go out of style, simple to do, and can adapt to almost any hair type. Also, if you like to wear your hair loose, you should know that there are many braided hairstyles with which you can show off your hair in the air, while sporting a cool and stylish half-updo.
These are the 10 hairstyles with braids and loose hair that we propose to you today:
1. Double close-to-the-scalp or root braids with loose hair
The close-to-the-scalp or root braids, although they require a bit of skill for proper execution, they are a quite flattering hairstyle that will allow you to clear your face and give your hair a touch of style.
Also, thanks to their versatility, they can be combined in double braids and even triple braids and loose hair for an ideal half-up hairstyle for both casual as well as formal looks.
2. Two loose half braids
As its name indicates, this hairstyle consists of making two braids, one on each side of the head loose, that is, without sticking them to the root. The trick is leave them half done. Yes, yes, just as you hear; it’s not necessary to finish the braid all the way down.
We can leave the rest of the hair loose underneath to complete our half-updo, giving us a very sweet look. This hairstyle is ideal to wear during the week, to go to work or for an informal event.
3. Woven braid crown or headband
There are many ways to make a crown or braided headband with loose hair. We think it’s a perfect look for events like weddings and baptisms. Also, if we want to give it a special touch, we can add some flowers or other types of accessories.
To create this hairstyle we will take two strands from the front part of our hair. We will start braiding the hair divided into three, taking new strands of hair while we go along the sides of our head backwards and we tighten the hair so that it stays close to the root.
The crown or braided headband can be simple (a single braid), or if we dare, we can also make it double with some finer braids.
4. Half braided headband
In this case, and unlike the previous hairstyle, we will weave our braid crown on only one half of our head.
This hairstyle is perfect for a more casual and youthful, ideal to give a fun touch to any event. It is also perfect to wear on office, school, or university days.
5. Loose braid crown
Unlike the woven braid crown, where the braid is attached to the very root of the hair, in this case we will leave the loose braid without taking more hair around our head. We can play with the thickness of the braid, taking more or less hair. There is also the possibility of making the crown with a simple, double, and even triple braid.
6. Braided headband with updo
This is a variant of the traditional braid crown, but in this case, right where both strands meet, we can make some type of updo to give it an more personal and elegant.
Don't be afraid to experiment and play with elastics and clips to make the updo as original as possible. Depending on the occasion, you can add accessories that suit the event you will attend.
7. Braided strands
This is undoubtedly the easiest hairstyle to do on this entire list, perfect for occasions casual and for young girls. We can give it a special touch by adding some decorative beads inside the strands.
8. Double side root braid
Just like in the first hairstyle we proposed, in this case we will make two root braids, but instead of placing one on each side of the head, we will weave both braids on only one side of the head.
This way, we will leave one side of the face more exposed and the other with loose hair. To finish the look, we recommend slightly curl the hair.
9. Half-up with loops
This half-up hairstyle allows different variations, depending on the type of braid we prefer for our hairstyle.
For this, we just have to take the two front strands, one on each side, and twisting them backwards, where they join, we will put a hair tie. With the hair left after the tie, we will make the braid we have chosen: fishtail, inverted, French…
And, voilà! We will have a beautiful updo with a braid and loose hair, perfect for any occasion.
10. Waterfall braid
This is one of our favorites, as its optical effect is incredibly aesthetic. To do it, we just have to make the hair part to one side or the middle.
We will take a strand from the front and divide it into three parts. We will braid the hair by taking new small strands as we move towards the front of the head, leaving gaps to insert small vertical strands between knot and knot.
We also have the option to take a strand from the other side and do the same, joining both waterfall braids at the back of the head. The result is a simple hairstyle, perfect for wearing the hair loose and easy to do.
Now that you know the best braided hairstyles… what are you waiting for to show off your style and flaunt your hair?
